{"id":1055,"date":"2021-12-07T20:07:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-07T19:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.claudionichele.eu\/blog\/?p=1055"},"modified":"2024-08-21T18:17:39","modified_gmt":"2024-08-21T16:17:39","slug":"eu-values-and-identities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.claudionichele.eu\/blog\/eu-values-and-identities\/","title":{"rendered":"EU values and identities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>How EU policymakers can navigate the new societal and political landscape of complex challenges, growing polarisation of groups of citizens, and conflicting opinions? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A report by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/european-commission-joint-research-centre\/\">EU Science, Research and Innovation<\/a>\u00a0says that science alone doesn\u2019t move the policy debate or citizens behaviours. Rather, policymakers should understand the EU citizens\u2019 values and identities, their differences inside a country and among countries, how identities influence values, how being member of different groups (tribes) colour people\u2019s opinions and biases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This understanding helps to better see what is desired by citizens, what is important for them, and finally to improve policymaking and regain trust in democracy.
